Imagine this: You have to deliver a PowerPoint presentation about an unfamiliar topic, with slides you’ve never seen, to an audience eager to cheer you on. Are you up to the challenge?
Business professionals, social media enthusiasts, and technology titans from across the Triangle will have a chance to test their PowerPoint Presentation skills on an unfamiliar topic with slides they've never laid eyes on to an audience that's ready to show their support and in some cases, heckle appropriately, at PowerPoint Karaoke RDU.
This entertaining and competitive event, co-sponsored by Imation,
Author, Angela Connor and Sociia Communications is being held at the
Hilton Raleigh-Airport Hotel, Thursday October 1, 2009 from 6:00-9:00
p.m.
Ten participants will give a 3-minute presentation consisting of 10-15
slides on a topic that will be announced at the time of the
presentation. They will tap into their creativity to make a coherent
karaoke-style presentation based on randomly chosen slides. Presenters
will be evaluated on execution, endurance, creativity, delivery and
more.
Each presentation will be submitted by the sponsors to the National
PowerPoint® Karaoke Contest via YouTube and the top 64 contestant
videos chosen will be eligible to win a grand prize of $5,000.
"When I was asked to host this event I thought it was a bit quirky, but
then I did some research and found the most hilarious presentations
online," said author, speaker and event co-host, Angela Connor." "I
knew right away that we needed to bring PowerPoint® Karaoke to the
Triangle where we know how to laugh at ourselves and have a good time."
PowerPoint® Karaoke RDU contestants and participants can enter drawings
to receive prizes ranging from thumb drives, to T-shirts and get a
chance to mingle with other area professionals during our social hour
from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
